I released this album around 1975 as an experiment.
It is a mixture of conventional folk-poetry in Maltese and instrumental
music. It was fashionable then, to refer to this sort of genre,
as "songs with a message". This work however was a deliberate
experiment in marrying Maltese verse with melody.
It contains actual poems by friends Charles Flores, Guze Abela
and Joe Axiaq.
My own songs where inspired by people like Bob Dylan, Leonard
Cohen and other Folk-Rock poets of that time.
I was also still heavily involved in the local music scene, which
brought me in constant contact with similar Australian musician
colleagues experimenting in the Folk-Rock vein.
The idea was to follow the same musical path using Maltese lyrics
instead of English.
Some say the Maltese language is not very adaptable to song writing.
I can only say this album remains as one of my favorites.
